Background
The individuals known collectively as B2DF were sent back in time, to the present day, from a distant future where an expanding and oppressive government threatens to forever change the course of human existence as we know it. This government is known as the Triumvirate. Operated by three adaptive intelligent machines making their decisions based on calculations, probability, and logic, the machines see any outside influence as a threat to the “harmony” of the Triumvirate Empire. So logically there is only two solutions to such a dilemma, either the outsiders willing join the empire, or be conquered, subjugated, or possibly eradicated. Several self governed worlds still exist in what is known as Liberal Galaxies, but their freedom’s end draws more near with every sunset. One planet, planet Xi’an as a last effort set in motion a plan to end the Triumvirates reign before it had even begun. The Shepherds, an elite military branch launched a top secret operation code named B2DF, in which three of their top operatives would be trained to be sent back in time to gather information on the Triumvirate before its formative stages began, and to deliver a message to the people of the past, “Resist conformity, revere freedom, and remember your passion.”
Of all of the top Shepherds the three chosen for B2Df were Virde LaSolis, Lason Ars, and Meem Resh Perio. Lason Ars raised a pacifist by Xi’anese monks, became one of the most proficient soldiers in the Shepherds ranks. He is wise beyond his years, only taking physical action when it is absolutely necessary, making him one of the Shepherds most valued leaders. Meem Resh Perio’s technological aptitude has made him the Shepherds most celebrated weapons engineers. He is just as capable in a battle as he is in a laboratory. Virde LaSolis is the youngest of the three. He is a gifted tactician and has achieved many things in young life. His quick temper and impatience often get the better of him. Virde put the entire B2DF operation in jeopardy, when he left to travel to the past alone, stating he was tired of waiting for the bureaucrats to move while the war continued. Now the remaining two members of B2DF have to find their missing comrade, in addition to completing their mission.
